    Seems like a myth until somebody proves it.
    But everyone I know seems to think it's true.

    That Don Denkinger's call in the 85 World Series was in Game 7 (it was Game 6) or that it cost the Cardinals the world series.

    That Nebraska beat Missouri in 1997. (Don't care what it says on ESPN Classic. :) )

    You bastard. That was my freshman year. I was on the wall that separates the stands from the field when that bullshit happened.

    True story: Wiggins, the kicker, was later accused (and possibly convicted of) either incest or statutory rape. And the Nebraska State Penn is in Lincoln.... not a coincidence.

    Apologies. Minor threadjack.

    We had that discussion with three different umpires this year in my son's youth league games. Two called strikes with no movement of the bat, one did not. I agreed with the former.

    Back to the myths.
