I wonder how many journalists from Can West Global will apply. 41 journalists from the Maritimes just got told they will lose their jobs come May.

    My source in Qutar says:

    Salary: $50,000 U.S.
    Health insurance: -$8,000.
Strongly suggested life insurance policy: $39,500.

Dave Marash, the former ESPN Baseball Tonight host, has been working as a talking head there for some time now.
The name sounds sort of Jewish.
Point needs to be made, though, how Al Jazeera is doing a really nice job delivering the news in an impartial fashion over here in Europe.
I've got Sky satellite out of Britain. Similar to DirecTV.
They have Al Jazeera-English network and Marash is one of several heads who really come off professionally with their work.
The reporting is top-notch, too, as correspondents file dispatches from all points on the globe.
Sports wouldn't just be going out to the local all-Arab soccer match and recapping the action.
Al Jazeera is making a move to be BBC-like and they are making inroads rather quickly.
I like what I see and hear on that channel. There are some good, forward-thinking Muslims out there in the world.

I spent a few months there after 9/11 and can attest that Doha is a good town and very Westernized. Much like Beirut.

Was there someone, just off-post, pointing a gun at your head while you were typing that? ;)

And they have a European Tour event there, won in the past by Ernie Els.

Here's one of the chants you'll hear from the cheerleaders there.
"Well we told once, then we told you twice, if you ain't Muslim, then you ain't Shiite!"
