    Not to threadjack, but I Tivoed the Bobby Murcer game the other night on Yes to watch the last inning play out.

    Immediately after Murcer slaps the hit into left to win the game, Howard Cosell goes on one of the greatest 30 second descriptions I have ever heard. I mean, how he put together everything that happened that day so strongly and dramatically in an instant. Man, the guy was good.

    I remember watching that game live. It was Monday Night Baseball, when a nationally-broadcast baseball game was a big deal. I was 11 when Munson died. He died in August. I had turned 11 in July. I still remember sitting on my parents bed listening to the radio with my dad for details, hoping the news wasn't true. It's the first time I remember crying over something that didn't involve me personally. I still feel crushed by it.
