It seems like the genre has really exploded the last few years. We've had serious biographies written about Vince Lombardi, Roberto Clemente, Joe Namath, Pistol Pete, Ali/Cosell ... who deserves the treatment next?

No one. There are too many of them out there already.
    Give it a rest.

I thought one was written about DiMaggio a few years ago....Title escapes me now, but I remember getting it as a Christmas gift.

There was, written by the excellent Richard Ben Cramer.

One of the best sports bios around, period.

Loved the book. Hated DiMaggio after reading it.
