Archie Manning was certainly a Mississippi icon even before his kids grew up to win Super Bowl trophies.

I can't believe how long it took for a mention of Wilt Chamberlain.

    The Kansas/KC list would include:
    Chamberlain
    George Brett
    Danny Manning
    Len Dawson
    John Riggins
    Phog Allen
    Bill Snyder
    Gale Sayers

What, no Montana or Rice? What about Elway or Marino, and I don't think Jim Brown has been mentioned yet.

Two reasons the SportsCentury was a complete crock:
    1) A horse was listed above Walter Payton ... defend Secretariat all you want, folks, but above Sweetness? No freaking way.
    2) Michael Jordan was put at No. 1. Above Muhammad Ali and above Jim Thorpe. No, ESPN, it didn't say "biggest sports cash register."
