    Fulltime Sports Writer/General Assignment Report

    The Terrell Tribune, an award winning twice weekly newspaper, has an immediate opening for a sports writer/general assignment reporter with reporting, layout, photo and design skills for a one-person department. InDesign experience a plus, as is web and multi-media experience. This could be a great first-time job for a recent college grad or for a writer looking to expand their portfolio with a variety of experiences. Areas of responsibility include a strong focus on high school sports of all kinds, covering a school board/education beat; some general assignment work and layout.

    The Tribune is looking for quality, hard-working candidates who want to excel. Our staff won first place in our division for news writing and placed high for sports photography and general excellence in this year’s Texas Press Association Better Newspaper competition. This is a full-time position with a complete benefits package, including health insurance and paid vacation. No phone calls, please.

    Three years ago, the Terrell Tribune had an opening for a sports editor. Now, it's a sports/GA reporter? Any of you know what happened to make this something other than just a sports position? Is Todd Jorgenson still there? I know he started as the sports editor and then advanced to a higher position there.
