From the Mississippi Press Association job bank:

The Daily Times Leader, a daily Horizon Publications newspaper, is seeking a sports editor with the vision, skill, passion to help make our great sports coverage even better. The Daily Times circulates throughout Clay County, a place where high school football is practically a religion. That passion spills over into each community’s other prep sports,
making for a primed readership that is always hungry for local sports
coverage. In addition to prep sports, we cover Mississippi State University
and other SEC schools. The Sports Editor responsibilities include covering
area sporting events, writing headlines and cutlines, compiling round-ups as
well as covering area high school sporting events. We are seeking someone
with appropriate experience. Salary and benefits are competitive. Paid
vacation, sick leave, mileage and 401K available. Please send a resume,
clips and/or tearsheets to Don Norman, Publisher, Starkville Daily News.
    P.O. Box 1068, Starkville, Ms. 39760, or e- mail:sdnpub@bellsouth.net or fax
    (662)324-8092.

You will be working here, no doubt about it.

Is this a different Starkville paper? There was an opening for a sports reporter in Starkville a while ago.

Anybody who comes through to talk about this job, IM me and I will buy you lunch while you're in the area.

I think they're in the same chain. West Point is about a 20-minute drive from Starkvegas.

I considered applying with the Starkville paper twice over the past four years.

Two different individuals, one with longtime Mississippi ties, did not have particularly positive things to say about the publisher.

One caveat: As sports editor of the West Point paper, you will seldom, if ever, cover Mississippi State. Most of your time will be spent covering West Point High and Oak Hill Academy.

isn't there a strip club on the outskirts of town? Not that I've ever been there or anything like that.

Not unless there was a putting green and/or gambling,

Yes. Not that I've ever been there or anything like that.

Fron the outside, it looks a lot like the Double Deuce before Dalton showed up.
