    Stay away from the college end of town and you'll be fine...most other areas are pretty nice.

    Great gig for whoever lands it...it's one of the few papers in this state that can buck the Oregonian. Lots of big events to cover between Olympic track and field and the Ducks.

    If you do apply for this one, you'd better have a good understanding of track and field -- It's Track City, USA, after all.

    Track Town Pizza, yum.

    Of course, the weather this spring would make some run as far away from Eugene, or any other place in the Northwest, as fast as possible. Johnny D is probably wondering who kidnapped the sun!

    And will rain through at least next Sunday - highs low 60s, lows high 40s.

    The winters in Oregon aren't bad - but the Springs can bleed your soul.

    I had not heard there's an in-house candidate; was under the impression no one on staff was especially interested. Maybe someone from news side?
