Any chance Jenn Sterger's leading the interview process?

Just be on high alert because it is typical Gannett. Make demands, increase workload and expect staff to cope or quit. I think the desk now is a universal set up, but writing staff has been stable. I believe Ike Morgan left for personal reasons. Randy (Beard) is essentially a columnist. I don't think he has managing responsibilities any more. I know he was out of the office most of the month with ACC basketball and then traveling with FSU women to NCAA tournament.

Cope or quit. That's the new management view.

Sad what these people in suits are doing to the rest of us.

The media corps will be the death of all that once was good and valued.

It's a shit sandwich, folks, while the suits are dining on crab and lobster.

    It's the Gannett way.

Didn't Gannett just endure another round of cuts?

I'm hoping he was the best person to apply for the job instead of being the only person Gannett could find in-house.

I think the latter will apply in this case.

  10. No it's not... Jim Lamar has been in the business for years and he's more connected in Tallahassee sports than about anyone. Good hire.

Being connected to Tallahassee sports is one thing. Being a part of Gannett family is another.

Connected is one thing. But reading the web site, he was a coach at an area community college. Reads like "homer" to me.
