    well, if six national titles and two runner-ups don't constitute being called the most successful I-AA program, then what does?

    I tend to agree with you on being able to live pretty well on that salary in that part of the world. I bet I'm not the only one who's lived in more expensive places on less.

    And FWIW, I can vouch for Jim Healy, as well. He's good, good people.

    Does Buckweaver know 73 percent of the sports people in Georgia? I didn't know Lewis Grizzard had a long-lost grandson in the business. ;D

    Not to put a damper on this thread or anything, but I'm pretty sure Furman Bisher's son died years ago ...

    Outlying burbs? I don't think Statesboro is big enough to have outlying burbs.

    Really, this would be a good gig for a paper of this size. And Savannah is pretty close if you want to get away.

    Well, the town that came to mind when I was writing that was Metter, but Claxton will do.
