    First things first — do you have a knowledge of and passion for high school sports? If you answered yes, keep reading, because you could be the person we're looking for. The Southbridge Evening News, a five-day daily newspaper published by Stonebridge Press Newspapers, seeks a sports editor to help coordinate sports coverage for our five weeklies and one daily newspaper. This is a writing position, with a part-time sportswriter and freelancers helping the full-time editor compile and publish stories covering high school sports in the Southern Worcester County area. The editor gathers and compiles sports briefs, scores, stories, photos and all other material for the daily sports pages to be laid out by our pagination department. The successful candidate will have at least three years sports writing experience and one or more years experience in an editor's capacity at a weekly or small daily newspaper. College newspaper experience will be considered. Stonebridge Press offers paid vacations, health insurance, 401K and mileage reimbursement.
