Description:

The Puyallup Herald, the weekly newspaper serving the Puyallup Valley in Pierce County, Washington, has an immediate opening for a Sports Editor. Our Sports Editor will generate both game and feature stories on daily and weekly deadlines and will coordinate game coverage with our daily sister paper, The News Tribune.



Qualifications for our ideal candidate include:



Ability to craft and build relationships with coaches, athletic directors and players in the communities we serve: Puyallup, South Hill, Edgewood, Summer and Bonney Lake.
Being well-versed in the use of Facebook and Twitter to connect with community and readers and generate readership for print and online products.
Good at managing time efficiently, working independently and as part of a team.
B.A. in journalism and one to three years of experience is preferred.
