The position provides print and online coverage of high school and community sports plus outdoor activities. We’re looking for a creative, energetic writer to produce compelling sports and outdoor features and to write game stories quickly on deadline. The sports editor will work with the EO Media Group's regional sports editor to coordinate coverage across Northeast Oregon.

Reporting experience, polished writing skills and a track record of accuracy and reliability are a must. Also important is the ability to conceptualize the multimedia components that might complement stories, including video, audio and slideshow elements. Experience using social media, including Facebook and Twitter, is preferred.

Many of the duties of this position require evening and weekend availability. Typical work week Tuesday through Sunday.

Anthony Lakes Ski Area is about 45 minutes from town, and Boise, one of the country's fastest-growing metro areas, is two hours' drive along Interstate 84.

This is a great opportunity to grow with a company that believes in the value of community journalism. This is a full time position offering insurances, 401(k)/401(k) Roth retirement plans and Paid Time Off (PTO). Good driving record and reliable transportation required.
