Sports Editor - Pittsburg (Kan.) Sun

  1. More like $18,000-20,000. A friend of mine freelances there between classes at Pitt State (and enjoys it), but keep in mind it is a Gatehouse shop.

    Likely good -- or decent enough -- for a younger person, but others would be taking a serious gamble.

    Pittsburg is a shell of what it used to be (the paper and the town). It's in the region of Kansas that is struggling the most economically, with little hope of that changing soon.

    My favorite memory of Pittsburg was the Jim Jones Memorial Rugby Tournament. Great party. Even had a song and some sort of Kool Aid cooked up for the festivities.
