    Description:

    The Peru Tribune, an award-winning daily in central Indiana, is seeking an experienced, motivated sports editor. This position includes providing direction for the daily sports report across digital and print platforms for the Tribune, a six-day a week community newspaper covering three high schools. The position also involves covering recreational sports and the active lifestyles of Miami County adults and children without ties to local schools — including but not limited to little league, soccer, bowling leagues as well athletics involving community events. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, familiarity with digital reporting, the ability to write quickly and take quality photos. It also requires strong organizational skills and good interpersonal skills. The sports editor must work well with members of the public and readers.     Typical county seat Indiana daily once owned by Nixon and now owned by Paxton. Marion is the regional hub for a bunch of those county dailies. Worked with David Penticuff way back in the day ... good people.
