    Description:

    The Jessamine Journal is seeking a sports editor for our weekly community newspaper in Central Kentucky. Job duties will include game coverage of high school sports, sports features, and youth league sports. Must be able to write game stories quickly on deadline and also post to the web, and manage sports social media accounts. Duties also include photography, videography and page design. Ideal candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in communication, English or journalism. We want someone with strong writing, copy editing and design skills. This is a full-time position offering health insurance, paid time off and 401k. The Jessamine Journal (www.jessaminejournal.com) is a member of Schurz Communications (www.schurz.com). The newspaper is located in Nicholasville, KY, just south of Lexington.     This used to be a really shitty paper when I was in HS. But then again, having just moved to this burg from outside Cleveland, I was pretty predisposed against it. I worked in Danville, which is also a Schurz paper, but that was so long ago that I couldn't begin to know what the company's like now.

    Plus: If you get this job and aren't a psycho, I might talk the justaparents into inviting you over for dinner. :)

    Oh, god, there's no UK in the Journal. He saves all his vitriol for the Herald-Leader.
