    SPORTS EDITOR
    The Journal-Register, a three-times-per-week community newspaper based in Medina, N.Y., has an immediate opening for a sports editor.
    The sports editor is in charge of reporting and photographing community sports, primarily high school athletics for multiple school districts, as well as other sports-related stories, events and features in our coverage area.
    The person in this position will oversee the sports section from start to finish, organize coverage plans, generate content and approve designed pages, and will employ social media to report sports news as it happens. The Journal-Register has a small staff and some assignments outside of sports may be required.
    Candidates must have photography, reporting and social media experience and knowledge of a wide range of sports. Strong writing skills and command of AP style are required.
    This is a full-time, hourly position worked mostly nights and weekends.
