    Liberal used to have really good high school football and a dynasty in track and field. I don't know if that's still the case.

    They have the least PC nickname for their girls' high school teams: The Lady Redskins.

    Edited to add: Oops, it's the Liberal Lady Redskins. Even better.

    Liberal High's home football field does have one of the greatest names - The Burial Grounds.

    It used to be "Redskinettes."

    Also, the football and track dynasties have gone into decline. I think there was a 2-8 football season a couple of years ago.

    Yeah, I don't believe that is the case anymore.

    Liberal is the town the rest of central/western Kansas looks down on. And that is really saying something.
