    This is an a.m. paper... Printing press is located in house, so you've got the luxury of a late deadline if you need it (which you will on game nights, since every sport but football you're writing and designing on your own).

    Typically, it's 5 day work weeks. Wednesday's are off days since there's no prep sports those nights. A designer will fill in and assemble the sports page in your absence. (There are exceptions... We were recently short-staffed and missing that Wednesday night designer, so I have been working six days a week for the past month +)

    any idea on pay range?

    Most of the most recent hires have been paid just north of the mid 20s.

    This position has been filled. A designer with sports writing experience was shifted into the role.
