There's a great slogan for the signs headed in and out of town.

 

Who got this one?

 

I've worked a few University and Memphis and Grizzlie games and the Sun staffed a few of those. I know they staffed the NBA playoff series with Dallas a couple years ago.

 

Know for a fact that two SEs ago, the guy left that job for a lesser-paying desk job at Knoxville. And you're right about the atmosphere: I know someone who interviewed there and ran like hell for the exits though the money looked good.

This is one of Gannett's worst experiments. Trust me.

 

I don't know about the paper, but Jackson, Tenn., is a shithole.

 

so, still no word on who got hired? have they even done interviews?

 

Hell, they're too busy writing new job ads. I count about four on jjobs.com.

 

where did the previous SE go?

 

Bob Heist went to the Lafayette, La. paper as SE, I believe.

 

So still no word on if they filled or who got it if anyone?

 

Dan Morris is listed on the site as the sports editor. So, I guess they went with an internal hire if I remember correctly.
