Troy was doing some work at Delta State the last I heard.

 

I've been told this one is close to being filled. An offer has been made.

 

Update. I hear that Kenny Mister from West Point will be the new SE.

He goes from coverage of Oak Hill Academy to coverage of Washington School, Greenville Christian and Deer Creek.
Publics will keep you sane, though.

The Publisher was canned Monday. If there's been a sports hire, he or she had not shown up in print as of yesterday.

 

According to what I've been told, Mr. Mister was supposed to have reported Wednesday but needed extra moving time and is supposed to be ready to work on Monday. The canning of the publisher had nothing to do with his delay.

 

I know the publisher, Ed Nichols.
He was there when I was there, then went to California with the chain, then came back.
If he is the one that got canned, I hate hearing it.

 

Here's what I've heard Blitz. Ed Nichols was relieved of his duties. He was replaced by a guy named Matt Guthrie who was formerly with Landmark Communications.

Guthrie is listed as publisher, and Mark Rogers as sports editor.

 

That's listed incorrectly. Guthrie is the new publisher. Rogers is the former sports editor. He's now at another paper in the chain. My guess is that they haven't gotten around to making the change on the Web site.

 

Perhaps Mr. Mister's plane had a broken wing?
