The Delta Democrat Times, Mississippi's most historically-significant newspaper, is seeking an energized sports editor. The sports editor will be in charge of a staff that covers one NCAA Division I university, one Division II university, a junior college and 23 high schools across seven counties as well as other activities in a highly-competitive market. The candidate should be knowledgeable of Quark and capable of designing a section as well as writing for it. The Pulitzer-Prize winning newspaper covers a dynamic area that is the heart of the Mississippi Delta and considers itself a champion of civil rights and preserving our blues heritage. Newspaper is afternoon delivered, Monday through Friday — morning delivered on Sunday. Call Ross Reily, Editor, (662) 378-0711, or e-mail resumes to rossreily@ddtonline.com.

FYI: You'll work for an editor who knows the sports side of the business. In his past two newspaper stops Ross Reily was sports editor of the Sun Herald in Biloxi/Gulfport and assistant sports editor of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo.
