Description:
The Gaston Gazette is looking for a sports editor to lead our sports staff in our print and online coverage. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated journalism, news and editing skills. Applicants should have knowledge of and an interest in a full range of sports, from local youth leagues, prep sports and pro teams including Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets. Applicants should be able to work with writers, identify and assign stories, manage and supervise long-range projects and take the lead in our digital and social media platforms. Candidates must be organized, energetic, highly motivated and able to communicate ideas clearly. Applicants must be able to work well with reporters and designers to produce a top-notch content across all platforms for our readers.
