    The Gainesville Daily Register, a CNHI newspaper located in Cooke County, TX is seeking a well-rounded Sports Editor, one who values all local sports and recreation news. This position will be charged with enhancing the sports coverage in print and online, building sports pages, and meeting demanding deadlines. Applicants must have strong news judgment as sports editor is relied upon to make spot news and breaking news decisions. Applicants must have a mastery of AP style and pagination. This full-time position offers medical, 401k and paid time off. Position requires a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, a reliable vehicle and an acceptable driving record. Three years of reporting or copy editing experience is preferred.     But there is a big casino just a few miles up I-35 in Thackerville.

    And stay away from the Winstar on the weekends. Good Lord.
