The temperature ranges in Fairbanks are amazing. All-time high is 99 degrees, all-time low is -66. Not too many places in the world can beat that.

I've been told that the sports writer currently on staff was offered, and accepted, the SE position, and now they're looking to hire a writer.

Here's the ad for the sports reporter.

Sports is a bit different up in the great state of Alaska. Sure, we’ve got college and high school basketball, ice hockey, and volleyball, along with high school football, and other traditional sports. But we’ve also got dog mushing, skiing, shooting, Alaska Native games and other sports that make being a sports reporter a bit, well, different here.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is looking for a sports reporter who can handle any type of sport on our two-person staff as well as present it quickly online and through social media.

E-mail a cover letter, resume and clips or links to Managing Editor Rod Boyce at editor@newsminer.com.
