    The Culpeper Star-Exponent, a five-day-a-week publication in Culpeper, Va., has an immediate opening for a Local News Editor. The Culpeper Star-Exponent is the primary source of news in Culpeper and the surrounding area. Culpeper, located about one hour southwest of Washington D.C. and one hour north of Charlottesville, VA, is a vital small town community that has been chosen as one of the Top Ten Small Towns in America.

    The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 2 years reporting or writing experience, thorough command of grammar and writing flair. Daily deadline experience and sound news judgment are essential. Strong work ethic and an interest in local issues a must. The position is responsible for running our sports department, planning and developing content for our print and digital platforms. Duties will include working and editing correspondents, writing, planning, videography and placing stories on our website. Some photography work is expected.
