Didn't this position get filled in the summer after Matt Traub left?
Bloomsburg, like all of the Northeastern PA area, is a great place for the "right" person.

One of our teams traveled to Southern Columbia, a football powerhouse that's won five straight PIAA Class A titles, late in the season.

If I recall correctly, the school has reached the championship game seemingly every year since the mid-1990s. Simply incredible stuff.

As for the Press Enterprise, I was pretty impressed. Nice layout, solid writing, not to mention a well put together weekly prep football tab.

And it's award-winning. Not many papers can say that.

And they've got some decent, non-BS folks running the show. Not many papers can say that.

Said it the last time this was open, will say it again -- this is a pretty decent gig. Nice town, good preps, very good DII football (and field hockey if you are sadistic). The editor there is a very good guy and the paper is strong for its size (even if they are partial to pictures of folks on the front porch of their double-wides as front page art).

Hey, when 80 percent of the population lives in double-wides ...

You're also within shouting distance of Pocono Raceway, if you'd like the opportunity to cover auto racing.

They have a stringer who covers Pocono for them. However, there's good local copy if Jimmy Spencer comes back since he's from Berwick.

Couldn't you just have e-mailed Jim instead of ripping this guy you use to work with on a very public message board?

It's not but so bad. Only guyty and Jim know who this guy might be. If Jim brings him on, no one on staff would know if this was the person guyty is talking about.
So, no one will know for sure but wow, guyty, no matter who takes over there, they will get looks from the staff wondering 'Is it him?' Didn't out the guy, but torpedoed anyone who takes this gig (as long as the staff is on the board).
