Sick of being a number rather than a person? Worried about layoffs? Would you like to work for a company that values its employees? Do you have a passion for local sports and small-town journalism? Enterprise Publishing Co. is hiring a sports editor/reporter ASAP. As a member of our news team, you'll manage sports coverage for our twice-weekly and weekly newspapers, website and social media, and also support our news and feature writing staff.

The Washington County Pilot-Tribune/Enterprise and Arlington Citizen are the area's No. 1 source for local news. The family-owned Enterprise Publishing Co. is headquartered in the growing community of Blair, just 20 minutes from Omaha and minutes from the Iowa border. The company offers a competitive pay and benefits package. The candidate will be required to live in Washington County. This is non-negotiable.

The ideal candidate MUST possess the following qualifications:

    * Newspaper experience with website content management

    * Demonstrated experience and comprehension of social media, especially Facebook and Twitter

    * Minimum three to five years post-undergrad work experience at a newspaper, including sports reporting

    * Solid understanding of journalism fundamentals, including AP style, accuracy, ethics and grammar

    * Experience with newspaper layout using InDesign

    * Experience in photojournalism using DSLR cameras

Interested candidates should email a cover letter, resume and at least five published clips as PDFs or links to Managing Editor Katie Rohman, editor@enterprisepub.com. Serious applicants only.

Could be possible this just opened back up if it was already filled. The job was just posted today on jj.com

Have to wonder if they didn't fill it and it's just the same ad reposted, or they did fill it, didn't work out and reposting the ad again.
  4. I'm pretty sure they reposted the ad, because I was scheduled to have a second interview with this paper 16 days ago for this position until I canceled because I was offered and accepted another job four hours before the interview was supposed to happen. It's highly unlikely that they would have already hired and lost someone in that span.
  5. Congrats on the new job, Nighthawk!
