    Atlantic, as in Ocean?

Wow, talk about a misleading city name. :p

Wait, a second, I just looked it up.

It's on that long, lonesome highway, east of Omaha.

I grew up 30 miles from here. Local legend has it that the founding fathers believed the city was halfway between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They flipped a coin to determine the name. Atlantic won. :) The actual "crossroads of the nation" is a hundred miles north in Early, Ia.

So did Early win a coin flip so it wouldn't be called Late?

Had an old editor who at one time lived in Possum Neck, Mississippi, which was located near a town called West, Miss.
He loved to joke that when people asked where on earth Possum Neck was, he'd quickly say, "About five minutes east of West."
