I like their vagueness over what beat it is. That's going to be a shitty job if the team you're covering is Arizona.

(Yes, I know it could be the men or the women.)

Maybe it's the Manchester, Conn., part that clued me in, but the team is UConn, which is not a bad beat.

    It's also a great job.

You clearly have never heard of the late, great Randy Smith.

Being half as good as he was would be a tremendous start.

Isn't this the paper that brought down the George O'Leary regime at Notre Dame?

NO, that was Manchester, New Hampshire. The hole in his resume was over the University of New Hampshire.

Blue font there. The "men or women" part could have clued you in to the fact that maybe I had an inkling that it was UConn.

Either way, you get to deal with a bonafide major-league asshole.

I understand that this job opened because Connecticut men's basketball beat writer Phil Chardis will be leaving to become the men's basketball SID at Connecticut.

Phil replaces Kyle Muncy, who will remain at UConn but in another role within the athletic department.

Muncy mentioned this via Twitter late last week.

Neill Ostrout got this job. He tweeted it earlier this week.

Good for the paper and for Neill. He covered the team for the Connecticut Post for years.

Great news for Neill. Hopefully he kicks the crap out of the Post, which never should have let him go.

Has nothing to do with the state, Buckeye.

Just because it's not how you do it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
