Description:
The NorthWest News Group of Greater Chicago is looking for a sports copy editor to work on its two daily newspapers – the Northwest Herald and Kane County Chronicle – their Web counterparts, and niche Web sites – McHenryCountySports.com, ChicagoBaseball365.com and ChicagoFootball365.com.
Our next sports copy editor must embrace the notion that he/she edits content for print and the Web, that our production cycle is not limited to the next day’s newspaper.

We’re looking for someone who can make stories better, design attractive pages and identify a strategy for getting breaking news to the Web and to the print product.

The Northwest Herald sports section has been named Associated Press Sports Editor’s Top 10 Daily and Sunday for eight consecutive years. This year we won the Triple Crown. McHenryCountySports.com was named a finalist in the 2007 EPpy Awards.

The NorthWest News Group is located in the highly competitive Chicago northwest and west suburbs. We fight the Metros and larger suburban papers daily. If there’s a professional team in Chicago, we cover it. But our staff of 13 full-timers and army of part-timers also cover preps. We cover our high schools passionately and comprehensively.
