    Description:
    The Courier-Journal's Sports Department is looking for a high-energy copy editor. Person will edit stories for accuracy, clarity, completeness, objectivity, grammar and spelling, organization, readability and style and for adherence to News Division policies.     It's Gannett. Send them a clip of your salary.

    Sending "clips" for an editing position ... then, again, some of your best editors were your best writers, so send some of your writing clips. Unless the desk destroyed them.

    Send a resume and a coherent cover letter. If they want to see clips, they'll have you edit raw copy.

    Many papers ask for samples of headlines and cutlines.
