The Citizens' Voice is looking for an editor with sports knowledge who can edit copy, write headlines, design pages, collaborate with writers and post to our website with speed and accuracy. Daily newspaper experience is preferred.Knowledge of AP style and page design is a must. Candidates with a working understanding of Adobe InCopy and InDesign will be considered first. This is a deadline position on the sports desk so candidates must have the ability to perform under daily deadline pressure and thrive in a busy newsroom environment.
We’re also looking for a copy editor who understands the basics and importance of the Web in breaking news. This includes and understanding of interactive technologies, and a knowledge of, or willingness to work with online and multimedia.
The Citizens' Voice is in a competititive, two-newspaper town and is a member of the Associated Press Sports Editors. The Voice recently earned six top-10 finishes in the annual APSE national contest.
Interested candidates should send a letter, resume and works samples to sports editor Jim Reeser at jreeser@citizensvoice.com.
