    Good for him. Being at the paper like The Sun for over a decade and never getting one of the top beats had to be pretty brutal.

    Good to see he's doing well.

    remember this is a New York Times paper and they sliced and diced their staffs at all regional papers they owned.
     
  4. FWIW, Gainesville made out on the better end, if I remember correctly, as it took over some of what the Ocala paper was doing when that place had some cuts.

    Concur. Could have, and should have, at least had a crack at the hoops beat a time or two since the halcyon days of the 20th century. Hoepfully, "The French Freedom Fighter"/a man who named a car after the former Mrs. Tommy Mottola has found greener pastures.
