This was open a couple months ago, too.

Interviewed for a news position a few months ago and didn't get it (see me being a slacker at copy editing) ... but the sports editor is a good guy. Sweet town, lots of outdoors activities. Not sure it pays a ton in a pricey town.

  4. Heard they're still looking for the right fit here. Anyone actually interview for this yet?

The paper is also taking months to fill openings for city editor and assistant city editor. It's a lovely area, but the pay vs. the cost of living (and relative isolation) has been a factor for some candidates.

On the flip side, if you ever hope to buy a house in Bend/Redmond, now is the time.

I have two nephews who live in Bend - right in the 30 range, they're single and play in a band - and they love it.
