    Overview:

    The Sun Sentinel, a South Florida-based news organization, is looking to fill a position for Sports Columnist. This region is competitive and fast-paced with an active news climate and teams in every professional sport. The ideal candidate will be enterprising and skillful in the use of multi-media tools.

    The Sun Sentinel covers the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Marlins, Florida Panthers, Miami Hurricanes and more.

    Responsibilities:
    To provide insight and commentary about the South Florida sports scene in print and online, with an emphasis on the Miami Dolphins and Miami Heat.

    Our columnist will write three to four columns per week and will regularly post to a blog and appear across multimedia platforms.


    Qualifications:
    We’re looking for a versatile, talented and experienced reporter and writer who can be an authoritative voice on topics of local, regional and national interest.
    Previous column-writing and pro sports experience is a plus. Strong digital skills are expected.

    You'd think they would look elsewhere in Tribune Co. --- if they are truly hiring anyone.

    I could easily see Orlando moving one of their guys into the job.
