    I thought Mick Foley's first book was terrific.

    And don't forget The Hustler's Handbook, which filled in many of the gaps.

    Veeck's stories are wonderful. Ed Linn's ghosting made the books great.

    Two oldy moldy goldies that I've recommended in the past:

    Foul, the Connie Hawkins Story by David Wolf

    Confessions of a Washed-up Sportswriter by Gary Cartwright
