Sports and culture columnist, Los Angeles Times

Discussion in 'Journalism Jobs' started by danielpaulling, Dec 10, 2018.

  1. The Los Angeles Times is looking for a sports and culture columnist to join its award-winning Sports department.

The ideal candidate can break down the deficiencies in the Lakers defense but also explain the transition of NBA players from athletes to activists. This columnist understands sports’ unique position in our society and can write on topics at the intersection of sports and politics, culture, race, fashion and music. The successful applicant will also be one of the faces of the Los Angeles Times as we expand further into video programming and podcasts.

This position is included in the Los Angeles Times Guild.

Qualified candidates should send a resume and work samples to assistant managing editor Angel Rodriguez at angel.rodriguez@latimes.com.
