    Not sure, but I think it had to do with both of them winning championships.

    NY Metro area = 9 teams (2 each FB, BB and hoops, 3 NHL) = 2 titles since 2000 = FAIL!

    That does seem like the only criteria that they used, though the article does mention fan support in a rah-rah, unquantified kind of way.

    They may suck, but it's the nicest stadium in baseball, they have $1 hot dogs on Friday nights and $2.50 16-oz beers for everyone after the game in the stadium club.
