Spelling Bee on sports wires

    Why is AP moving Spelling Bee copy on Sports wires? Did they do this before ESPN started televising it? Yes, I know they try just as hard as the football players.

    Next thing, they'll be running cheerleading competitions on there.

    It's an educational competition, just like a science fair or creative-writing contest.

    Belongs on the general or national wires.
