    You get the sense that they talk to a lot of cops for story ideas and dialogue. The thing about new guys actually taking the job for the pay and benefits, the randomness of things, the mindset it takes to get through a shift (some could view this job as a tragedy, I see it as a comedy - I see things that make me laugh at least once a day).

    I'm getting into the show for the crazy shit the beat cops deal with. I get bored watching the detective dealing with a kid she doesn't want. If I wanted that kind of drama, I'd pick another show.
