Whether it's college or pro, Indiana basketball is always good for a fight!

I'm glad this thing broke in mid-season so Sampson can't scamper off just ahead of the NCAA posse.

I'm familiar with his fine work at OU.

Is Sampson as corrupt as the average coach, or more so? OR Just dumber because he gets caught?

Sampson makes John Calipari look like Homer Drew.

I just hope IU doesn't go after Bruce Pearl.

He'd be enjoying it more if Myles Brand was there.

With Brand and the AD, Clarence Doninger, who ushered Bobby out the door, both gone from IU (and the current AD, Greenspan, almost certainly dead meat himself due to the Sampson disaster) , I'm not so sure Knight's return is such a never-say-never situation.

They've got to get somebody who has an utterly pristine reputation vis-a-vis NCAA violations, and whatever else you say about Bobby, he certainly does have that.

  8. Dan Dakich, a former Knight player and assistant, is back as an assistant at IU.

Despite his less-than stellar resume, I put my money on him being interim coach once they shitcan Sampson.

It's not the act itself. It's the hubris.

Seriously, who gives a rat's ass about phone calls? There is way worse shit going on in college hoops than phone calls. It's that the dude so blatantly violated the terms under which he accepted the job, then lied about it.

If he really needs to make illegal phone calls to recruit to Indiana, he has serious issues anyway and deserves to get canned.

If he'll break a rule as small as that one...
