Again, if you oppose Boom's argument, you presuppose the Yankees wouldn't have added another player of A-Rod's caliber, either via trade or free agency.

Your hole at third base after Boone blew out his knee could have been filled other ways. Instead of A-Rod (3B) and Miguel Cairo (2B), you maybe could have had Tejada (3B) or someone of that caliber and Soriano (2B). Honestly, I'd take the latter combination every single time.

Or Mike Lowell when The Marlins made him available.

Phillies were also dangling Rolen around then.

Boom's "argument" is that he "never fit in." Which is kind of silly. He fit in well enough to be an extremely productive player. Remember, Boom also tried to argue that he won two MVP awards as a Yankee by piling up statistics in meaningless games. Apparently, those entire two seasons were meaningless.

Name the available players that were of Arods calibre through those years? So you are going to play Soriano at second over Cano? Ok.

A lot of assumptions that the Yanks could just go out and do these things.

Are there any Scott Boras free agent clients that lived up to his hype? Came close to earning their big fa contract?
