I agree with that last part. I wanted ARod to be one of those all-time greats for the Yanks but 10 years later it seems like he was more of a headache.

I liked Soriano during his Yankee days. If nothing else the Yanks have a right-handed HR threat again. What's the stat? I think the Yanks have hit 2 right-handed homers since late May.

My gut tells me that Soriano is going to get a huge ovation tonight or whenever he shows up. Aroid will not get the same
    if and when he returns.

I can agree with you on that. I think like Xan said, I wanted A-Rod to become a legendary Yankee, but there's just no around the fact that his, I don't know, obliviousness and cheating have cost him any kind of a positive legacy. He was a joy to watch in 2007 and even moreso in the 2009 postseason, but I'm definitely fatigued with all the crap surrounding him.

Versatile, I'm not disagreeing with your point A-Rod is better than Soriano, but I have to point out that this season, his WAR is a negative number, since his replacements, who suck, have at least done SOMETHING out there.

Impressive 52 WAR. And give A-Rod his 2009 postseason run of .370 (19-52) with 6 HR and 18 RBIs.

Then you take into account the rest of his Yankee playoff days:

    .160 (19 for 117) with 4 HR, 15 RBIs in 45 games.

    Code:

For the WAR numbers. It's about fit. A rod never fit as a Yankee and Soriano
    did.

Can somebody tell me who the Cubs are getting and is he a prospect or a nothing?

Class A pitcher who throws 97 with a good curve.

3 for 28 doesn't cut it, but come on, we're talking the Cubs here against one of the greatest collections of players the last 10 years.

That being said, Soriano hit .230 (34 for 146) with 4 HR and 18 RBIs during his Yankee playoff days.

One if you count 2000 when he did get a ring. But if you don't count 2000
none but did make it to WS two of the three years which he was a primary
    player.

    Actually, I missed yours.

You were saying he should have hit more home runs playing in Wrigley Field, whereas I thought you were minimizing the accomplishment of hitting 30 home runs while playing in Wrigley Field.

    My bad.

Cory Black was their fourth-round pick last year. Big arm, some control issues. If he gets to the majors it will be as a reliever. Probably ranked between 20-30th in Yankees system depending on what list you look at.
