Steve Davis was one of two people killed in Sunday's crash in a South Bend neighborhood.

Sooners won the title in '74 and '75, and as a 3-year starter Davis went 32-1-1.

    He was 60.

I played QB on my fraternity's 'B' intramural hardyball (football) team in '75 and pretended I was Steve Davis. My left halfback pretended he was the white Elvis Peacock.

    Great option QB.

Steve Davis was a slick ball handler in the bone offense. Had some amazing running backs in Elvis Peacock , Joe Washington, Horace Ivory and Billy Sims. Just a beautiful offense to watch when it was humming along. RIP
