What freaks me out is I've never heard of this song, yet it's the second time on this thread it has been mentioned.

Great calls on "You're Missing" and "Into the Fire" by Bruce.

I saw him perform "You're Missing" at Shea Stadium a couple weeks after a friend of ours was killed in a car wreck. He left behind a wife and infant son and I always think of her when I hear that song. I was about to water up and then Bruce went right into "Waitin On A Sunny Day," which was jarring yet also felt somewhat appropriate.

It's not a deep or meaningful song, but "Hey Jealousy" always gets me a little melancholy. It reminds me of the last summer before I went away to college and the whole last-time-around vibe that permeated the summer.

Got a version of that on my ipod that he recorded in concert. Just him and the piano, no backup singers, no other instruments. Whoa.

"Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days)" ~ The Judds...

I had never heard this song before it was played during my Grandpa's funeral...

The line "Daddys really never go away..." gets me EVERY time...

Mine's far more obscure, mostly because it's by a singer-songwriter I know personally. It's a breakup song, but one written in late 2005.

The day you left, a city floated out to sea
It's hard to feel too sorry for myself at times like these

On a barstool, I was changing strings
When I felt my breath catch in my chest, cause on the TV screen
I saw my heart there in the hot, hot sun
Waiting on a rooftop for a rescue boat to come

I wanna add two to my previous list:

    "Angel" - Sarah McLachlan
    "Leave" - Glen Hansard

Cheesy, I know, but Where Were You (when the world stopped turning) by Alan Jackson.

    It's about 9/11

    "Travelin' Soldier," Dixie Chicks

That song, particularly, is why I get such a kick out of the ignorant yeehaws who call the Dixie Chicks anti-American communist bitches.
