I learned today that I am not Polish on my father's side. I am Slovak.

(I'm adopted, which is why this wasn't common knowledge to me as a child.)

I'm really going to feel like an idiot if he doesn't show up either. I got a nice room.

I learned that I'm going to be a father. Due date is February 29 next year.

 

I learned that what had once been a fairly-all-encompassing career is now basically just a job.
