    I have now seen this in two places. Must have gone viral the last few days.

    The kangaroo's reaction is pure shock, like, "You didn't just do that!"

    That's the sign that they are about to kick the shit out of you. Dude did the right thing by striking first. Roos jump and kick with both powerful legs and can seriously fuck up your ribs and internal organs.

    I don't advocate punching wild animals, but given another few seconds, that roo could have seriously hurt that guy.

    Kangaroo fighting is a thing. I'm trying to remember the name of the movie, but there's an old Australian movie -- not sure if it's "Outback"/"Wake in Fright" or something else -- that, during the filming, they basically let the cameras roll on what happens normally. The cameramen said they finally stopped filming because it was so barbaric.
