Someone thinks moving a 340-ton rock 100 miles in LA is a good idea

    And all because it's "art."

Combined with its custom, massive trailer, the rock will weigh 1.2 million pounds...as it takes an eight-day journey from Riverside to the LA County Museum of Art. But only after 100 different agencies worked to clear its path by moving power lines, cutting trees, etc.

The route, about as circuitous as can be:

We wanted to go LACMA last week, but it doesn't open until noon on Fridays.
If you've never been there, it's next to the Labrea tar pits, which are extremly cool.

So, it's on the move...the largest natural item moved by man in 4,000+ years, according to LACMA's anthropologists. Mrs TV and I checked it out today and I have to admit it's pretty damn cool.
