Dale Sveum takes the Cubs job.

Rumors abound that Yount will be the hitting coach, and Molitor will be the bench coach.

Whoever thought we'd see the day where the Cubs hire a Brewers assistant?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Craig Counsell on his coaching staff.

I had already watched that before you even posted.

Quite a year. A 13-game winning streak, a 12-game losing streak, a 39-game hitting streak and a no-hitter. It would be pretty difficult to pack any more excitement into a non-playoff season.

Until very recently, that was, without question, the greatest non-1982 Brewers regular season game in its history. Still one of the biggest ever.

Non-Milwaukeeans won't understand the significance of 12 in a row. The local greasy spoon/late night drunk stop, George Webb's, always had a standing offer that if the Brewers had won 12 in a row, they'd serve hamburgers for free for a day. That was the first time it happened, and I believe, the only time the Brewers have won 12 in a row.

(I believe the Braves might have done it twice when they were in Milwaukee, but I don't know if George Webb's did the promotion back in those days)

As far as today's news ... good for Sveum. I wish him bad luck, but it's business, not personal.
